The SB08 proceedings are now available to download...

or you can request for them to be posted from the menu option "Proceedings Requests "

Due to the size of the files and the large number of people that are trying to download them simultaneously, some delegates have reported a corruption on volume 2.

We have now republished Voume 2 and it is again available for download.

There is an enormous amount of information so the proceedings have been split into three volumes:

Volume 1 includes welcome messages, program & general info, sponsors & auspicing societies, best SB07 papers, special forums, reports on SB policy & status in different regions/countries, and special Australian reports (from ASBEC & GBCA) .
Volume 2 is approximately 168MB. Downloading may take some time, however, once downloaded and saved to your hard drive, it is laid out in a manner that allows fast and simple navigation. This contains the full papers for both oral and poster presentations that form the scientific program of the conference. Papers can be searched by author or theme/topic.
Volume 3 contains selected photos during the conference and copies of keynote and other oral presentations (that do not have full papers in Vol. 2, or from sessions that are not part of the scientific stream) from authors who have given permission for this to be included.

"The papers included in the World SB08 Proceedings, Volume 2, have been reviewed in its entirety and deemed to be worthy of inclusion in the conference program and proceedings by at least two, and in many cases three, independent and qualified experts drawn from Australia and internationally, including members of the International Scientific Committee.
As such, the published papers meet the requirements for 'peer-reviewed' Conference Publications as stated in the DEEWR's 2008 HERDC Specifications for Collection of 2007 data."
-- Dr Greg Foliente - Conference Co-chair and Primary Editor of the SB08 Procs.

Three years in the planning, the event brought together major partners the CSIRO, Sustainability Victoria, the United Nations Environment Program, the International Initiative for a Sustainable Built Environment (iisbe) and the International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction (cib).

Held from 21-25th September 2008 in Melbourne, the World Sustainable Building Conference was a huge success by any standards:

•    Number of delegates -  2,059
•    From over 60 countries
•    50% of the delegates were from Australia
•    48 exhibitors
•    26 sponsors
•    22 auspicing societies
•    Over 350 papers and speeches delivered
•    185 posters
•    the radio and press coverage was extensive
